WILLIAM R. (BILL) THOMPSON

William R. Thompson of 13415 Snowden Way, Louisville, KY, 40272, and former Hinton resident, died Friday, Nov. 18, 1988, at SS Mary and Elizabeth Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was a retired Army Sergeant. He worked as an in-school security guard for the Jefferson County Board of Education.

He was an army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of VFW.

Survivors are his wife, the former Carolyn Lenzen, a son, Andrew J. Thompson, his step-father, Forrestt Garlow of Cherokee, Iowa; a half-brother, James Thompson of Campbellsburg, KY.; two half-sisters, Debbie Ross of Elizabeth, Ind., and Rhonda McCoy of Cloverport, KY.; a stepbrother, Blaine Garlow of Omaha, Neb.; and two stepsisters, Shirley Morgan of San Antonio, Texas, and Sherry Moser of Garden Grove, Calif.

Funeral was held Tuesday, Nov. 22, at Our Lady of Help of Christians Catholic Church. Burial was in Zachary Taylor National Cemetery.
