Ralph A. Fisch, 92, of Le Mars, Le Mars, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at Good Samaritan Society of Le Mars.

Ralph A. Fisch was born May 1, 1915, in Le Mars, the son of Nicholas P. and Margaret (Pletschette) Fisch. Ralph's father owned and operated the first general dry goods and grocery store in Le Mars. He was raised and educated in Le Mars, graduating from St. Joseph Catholic School in 1934. In 1936 he began employment with Remer Fuel Co. in Le Mars.

On July 11, 1939 he married Marguerite "Mudge" Feller at Le Mars where they made their home. In 1942 he began employment with St. Clair and Kovaleske Men's Wear in Le Mars until the early 1950s when he went to work for Wally Lutjens Furniture Store in Le Mars. From the mid-1960s he was employed at Alf's Manufacturing in Le Mars until his retirement in 1979. Mudge died Dec. 17, 2000. He had been a resident of Good Samaritan Village since July 20, 2005.

Ralph was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars. Ralph and his wife loved to play golf and were members of the Le Mars Country Club for many years. He never backed away from a good game of cribbage.

Survivors include one son, Jim and his wife Lois of Burlington; two grandsons, Greg and his wife Jennifer of Lenexa, Kan., and Matt of St. Louis, Mo.; two granddaughters, Beth Ann and her husband John Larigan of Overland Park, Kan., and Rae Ann Fisch of St. Louis, Mo.; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gregory and Joseph; and three sisters, Philomena Fisch, Esther Wagener, Concordia Gralapp.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars. His nephew, the Rev. Robert Gralapp will officiate with the Rev. Kevin Richter concelebrating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars. The Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen is in charge of arrangements.

Casketbearers will be Greg Fisch, Matt Fisch, Beth Ann Marigan, Rae Ann Fisch, Allan Gralapp and Joe Feller.

Memorials have been established for Hospice of Siouxland and Gehlen Catholic School.
