John F. Webster Sr.
REMSEN, Iowa -- John F. Webster Sr., 32, of Remsen died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Le Mars, Iowa.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen, with the Rev. Craig Miller officiating. John was an organ donor, and his body will then cremated. Interment of his ashes will be at a later date. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
John was born Feb. 13, 1975, in Sioux City, the son of Larry and Debra Cole. He was raised in Pierce, Neb., where he received his first four years of education. He then moved with his family to the Siouxland area and finished his education. In 1994, he moved with his family to Westfield, Iowa, and he began working for Smithco Manufacturing Inc., near Le Mars.
On Feb. 22, 2003, he and Melissa Melendez moved to Hesperia, Calif., where he was employed at Bob's Tire. In January 2005, they moved to Sioux City, and he resumed working at Smithco, where he was currently employed. On Feb. 28, 2006, he and Melissa were married at Las Vegas, Nev. On Sept. 1, 2007, they moved near Remsen.
He was an avid NASCAR fan and his favorite driver was No. 8, Dale Earnhardt Jr. John enjoyed working on cars, doing auto body work and painting, Budweiser and grilling and being with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Melissa of Remsen; two sons, John Jr. of Westfield, Iowa, and Travis at home; a stepson, Joshua Lenninger of Sioux City; his parents, Debra and Larry Cole of Sioux City; a sister, Jackie and her husband, Jason Solomon of Sioux City; a brother, Jesse Cole of Olathe, Kan.; his mother-in-law, Billie Ford of Carroll, Iowa; his father-in-law, Jeff Melendez of Hesperia, Calif; maternal grandmother, Patricia Webster of South Sioux City; paternal grandfather, Alfred Cole of Sioux City; paternal great-grandmother, Dorothy Kent of Sioux City; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Fae Webster; paternal grandmother, Jean Cole; maternal great-grandparents, Eva and John Kotorus; paternal great-grandfather, Claude Kent; and an uncle, Michael Webster.
