Edna "Honey" Ehrp, 94, Remsen, died Sunday, March 2, 2008, at her home in Remsen, with her family at her side, God called her to his eternal home.

God brought Edna into this world on June 26, 1913, at rural Merrill, the daughter of Fred and Louise (Kammeier) Trometer. Edna was raised in the Merrill area. She was baptized into the Christian faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Merrill and later confirmed there. She received her education at Liberty Consolidated School, rural Merrill, from which she graduated in 1932.

On Sept. 27, 1940, she married Verdine Ehrp at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Merrill, and they were blessed with 67 years of marriage and two daughters. They made their home near Merrill, where they were engaged in farming. In the early 1940s they moved to near Remsen where they farmed until retiring and moving into Remsen in 1979. They had many friends and spent many wonderful years wintering in Texas.

She truly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to cook, play cards and just be around people. She was happiest when she was feeding a houseful of people. She was in a birthday club and belonged to the Jolly Bidders card club for many, many years.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Remsen and the church Ladies Aid.

Survivors include her husband, Verdine, of Remsen; two daughters, Linda and her husband Pat Tracey of Remsen, and Connie Simmons of Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren, Kim and her husband Mike Sparr of Remsen, Brian and his wife Shelly Tracey of McCook Lake, S.D., Mike and his wife Linda Simmons of Bloomfield, N.M., Jason and his wife Kandi Simmons and Amanda White all of Denver, Colo.; 12 great-grandchildren, Sarah, Kristin, Matthew, Brianna, Jacob, Ashley, Tyler, Anthony, Austin, Amanda, Logan and Paige; and one sister-in-law, Mary Trometer of Peoria, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Irene Schmid and Verna Radloff; and one brother, Glen Trometer.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church in Remsen with Vicar Dennis Martens officiating. Burial will be in the Remsen City Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and visitation will resume Wednesday, from 9 a.m. until service time, all at Christ Lutheran Church in Remsen. The Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen is in charge of arrangements.
