Roger L. Hays, age 53 years, of Omaha, Neb., died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007. He was a former Le Mars resident and Le Mars Community High School graduate.

With great sadness, and in loving memory of my father, Roger Lee Hays:

On Dec. 11, 2007 a truly great man passed from this world and from the lives of his family and friends. He was one of the brightest lights that we have ever known and he will be missed more than any words could ever hope to express. He was unselfish, full of tremendous passion and full of uncompromising love for his family. It was an honor to know him and to receive his love and experience life with him.

His great professional accomplishments are widely known and were a great source of pride for him. However, it was his personal life and his life with his family that truly defined him.

More than anything, we do not want to live without you, but you will always be in our hearts and in our minds, for you are and always will be such a great part of us.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cristina; daughter, Melissa; mother, Patricia Hays of Okoboji; siblings: Debbie and Bob Jensen and their children, Josh, Cortney, Erika and Bailey, Scott and Pam Hays and their children Riley and Travis of Columbia, Mo., and Todd and Heather Hays of Fayetteville, Ark., and their children Nicholas, Parker and Hadley.

Visitation was held Saturday, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the West Center Chapel in Omaha, Neb.
