Rose Ann Wenzel, 54, of Cumming, Ga., and formerly of Kingsley, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Rose Ann Wenzel was born to Verlyn and Charlotte (Schuldt) Wenzel on Nov. 27, 1953 in Sioux City. She graduated from Kingsley-Pierson High School in 1972. Rose Ann continued her education at St. Mary's School of Nursing in Omaha, Neb.

After receiving her nursing degree, Rose Ann had an extensive career in ER nursing at various hospitals in Iowa, Nevada and Georgia. Most recently she was practicing at North Fulton Regional Hospital in Roswell, Ga.

Rose will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Michael Smith; daughters Megan (Babcock) Alexander and her husband Jason and Michelle Babcock; a son, Heath Babcock; three grandchildren, Kelli, Alyssa, and Rebecca; a brother, Eugene and his wife Danita; her twin sister Roxie (Wenzel) Lehner and her husband Steve; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rose was preceded is death by her mother, father, and a brother Neal.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 29, at the United Methodist Church in Kingsley. The Rev. Roger Kurtenbach will officiate. Burial will follow at the Kingsley Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at the church and will continue until service time. The Johnson- Earnest Funeral Home of Kingsley is assisting Rose Ann's family with funeral arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Angie Campbell, Logan Patterson, Lonnie Wenzel, Matt Beelner, Jacque Beelner and Andrew Greene.

Memorials in Rose Ann's memory may be directed to the March of Dimes.
