Ina Krekow, Retired Teacher

MARCUS—Ina Krekow, 81, Marcus, died Thursday at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Peace Lutheran Church, Marcus. The Rev. Michael Wolfram will officiate with burial in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Marcus.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Sunday and the family will be present from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Nelson-Earnest Funeral Home, Marcus.

Ina Frances Knight was born Aug. 2, 1904, at Kingsley to Wilson and Kate Dearinger Knight. She grew up in the Kingsley area and attended the University of Iowa and Westmar College.

She married Theodore C. Krekow on April 9, 1927, at Sioux City. They lived on a farm in Tilden Township for many years. Mr. Knight died in 1956. She then taught schools in the Marcus area, retiring in 1969.

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid and Braille Workers of the church; the Marcus Garden Club and the retired teachers association.

Survivors include one son, James Krekow, Aurora, Colo.; three daughters, Mrs. Roger (Marjorie) Frisbie, Cherokee; Mrs. Kenneth (Marvel) Bolick, Austin, Texas, and Mrs. Jack (Susan) Gano, Boone; four sisters, Agnes Oleson and Alice Ohlendorf, both Kingsley; Edna Pfaffle, Remsen and Mrs. George (Margaret) Meyers, Mount Prospect, Ill., and seven grandchildren.

A sister, Mabel, preceded her in death.
