MRS. ROSE KESTEL

MARCUS – Mrs. Rose Kestel, 73, of Marcus died Tuesday morning at Floyd Valley Hospital, LeMars, after a lingering illness. She was born at Remsen, Ia., on Dec. 14, 1895 and was married to Joseph Kestel on Jan. 11, 1916 at Remsen. He preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 1949.

Survivors include two sons, Rev. Edmund Kestel of Conception, Mo., and Paul Kestel, Marcus; one daughter, Mrs. E. J. Noonan of Omaha; and eight grandchildren. Six brothers, Frank, George, Fred, Joe and Tony Nacke, all of Remsen, and Henry Nacke, Granville, and four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Kass of Remsen, Mrs. Celia Vandermark of Sioux City, Mrs. Fern Shaffer, Ames and Sister Mary Columba (Anne) of Clyde Mo., are other survivors.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Marcus. Rev. Edmund Kestel will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Rosary is to be recited at Marcus Nelson Funeral Home tonight at 8 p.m. by the parish and at 8:30 p.m. by the Holy Name Society.
