Albert C. Luther

Albert C. Luther, Sioux City, and Mission, Texas, died Saturday (Dec. 24, 1983) in a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the First Congregational Church. Revs. Peter and Allyson Sawtell will officiate. Burial will be in the Osage (Iowa) City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.

Mr. Luther was born March 27, 1910, in Armington, Ill. He moved to Osage where he graduated from high school. He married Arleen McIllece June 16, 1934, in Nashua, Iowa. The couple came to Sioux City in 1957 from Minnesota. He was employed by Crowell-Collier and Curtis Publishing Co. as sales supervisor in the Midwest states for 40 years. He also owned and managed several farms in Plymouth County for 20 years. At the time of his death, he was semi-retired and operated Fluff n Puff Mobile Pillow Cleaning Service part time.

Mr. Luther was a member of the First Congregational Church, United Commercial Travelers and the Elks and Eagles lodges, both of Sioux City.

Survivors are his wife; two sons, James of Mission, Texas, and Thomas of Port St. Joe, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Emma Henderson of Mt. Carroll, Ill., and six grandchildren.
