Dwight F. Walden
Dwight Frank Walden, 92, of Kingsley died Monday (Dec. 19, 1983) in a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church in Kingsley. Rev. H. Wallace Kinzler will officiate. Burial will be in the Kingsley Cemetery under the direction of the Michaelson Funeral Home.
Mr. Walden was born Nov. 18, 1891, rural Kingsley and lived most of his life in the Kingsley area. He married Fae Mary Ward Dec. 20, 1916, at Kingsley.
He operated a steam engine for a threshing run from Iowa to Canada, later working for the Kingsley Lumber Co. for 45 years.
Mr. Walden was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Verlinden of Sioux City and Mrs. Jerry (Burnice) Thibodeau of Elgin, Ill.; one son Glen of Sacramento, Calif.; one grandson whom he raised, Larry Roepke of Denver, Colo.; one brother, Arthur of Huntington Beach, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Katherine Walters of California; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
