MARGARET A. HENRICH

AKRON, Iowa --- Margaret A. Henrich, 88, of Akron died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at Akron Care Center.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Akron, with Monsignor Richard Zenk officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars, Iowa. Visitation will resume 7 p.m. Tuesday, with a Scriptural prayer service at 7:30 p.m. followed by a Catholic Daughters of America rosary, at the church. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

Margaret Annetta Blum was born Aug. 22, 1913, in Elk Point, S.D. She was raised by the Peter J. and Hannah (Lund Bredall) Blum family. She grew up in the Akron area and graduated from Akron High School in 1931. She attended Normal Training in Red Oak, Iowa, and received her teaching certificate. Margaret taught for two years at the Port School in Westfield (Iowa) Township School District.

On Aug. 22, 1933, Margaret and Leo Paul Henrich were united in marriage at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Akron. The couple made their home on a farm five miles east of Akron. Mr. Henrich passed away on Nov. 19, 1995. Margaret became a resident of Akron Care Center in November 1995.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of America.

Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters and their husbands, Patricia and James Dennison of Akron, Barbara and Burton Kross of Fort Collins, Colo., and Sandra and Kenneth Lloyd of Iowa City; a son and his wife, Dr. Dennis and Barbara Henrich of LeMars, Iowa; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Catherine E. Miller, of San Marcos, Calif.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, David Dennison; brothers, Edwin and Emery Blum; and a sister, Arlene Petty.
