FLORENCE P. BRYANS
Florence P. Bryans, 90, of Sioux City, died Friday, Nov. 8, 1996, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Westlawn Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Willard Galloway officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Mrs. Bryans was born April 24, 1906, in rural Merrill, Iowa, the daughter of Daniel and Rose (Simoni) Cobb. She married Frank “Bill” Bryans on Oct. 18, 1924, in Vermillion, S.D. He died Jan. 19, 1991, in Sioux City.
Mrs. Bryans was a member of the Westlawn Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon, and she was active in the P.W., the Girls of ’68, and the Woodman of the World.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Bryans of Sioux City and Phyllis and her husband Lorvan Hawkins of Ireton, Iowa; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, George; one brother, D.H. Cobb; one sister, Mildred Keenan.
Pallbearers will be David Hanson, Walter Haltli Jr., Robert Barger, Larry Britton, George Polak and Joe O’Hern.
