LaVerle (Whitey) Bohlken, 53, of LeMars, died Friday (Aug. 28, 1987) at Floyd Valley Hospital after a 10-month illness.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s American Lutheran Church in LeMars. Rev. David Kramer will officiate. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery at Craig.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Monday with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home.

Mr. Bohlken was born Feb. 10, 1934, in Plymouth County to Albert and Sena Konken Bohlken and was a lifelong resident of the LeMars area.

He was owner and operator of Whitey’s Body Shop in LeMars.

Mr. Bohlken was a member of St. John’s American Lutheran Church.

Surviving is a brother, Donald, of LeMars, and four nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
