LOUIS BOCK, SR.

Louis Burnell Bock, Sr., 67, of Sioux City died Thursday, July 13, 1995, at his home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Rustin Avenue United Methodist Church with the Rev. Martha Anderson, church pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in rural Hinton, Iowa. Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mr. Bock was born Sept. 14, 1927, in Plymouth County, Iowa, the son of Charles B. and Minnie M. (Kroger) Bock. He graduated from LeMars High School in 1945. He married Mary L. Starr. Mr. Bock resided in Sioux City for most of his life and was involved in family farming for many years. He worked at Swift Independent for several years until his retirement.

Mr. Bock was a member of Rustin Avenue United Methodist Church, Swifts Retiree Club, and the South Sioux City Social (Senior) Center, where he was active in the pool league.

Survivors include his wife Mary; two sons and their wives, Louis Jr. and Sue of Alta, Iowa, and Kevin Sr and Sandra of James, Iowa; three daughters and their husbands, Mary and Ron Lowery of Grand Prairie, Texas, Anette and Larry Gerch of Sioux City, and Denise and Rod Keleher of Cherokee, Iowa; ten grandchildren, Kevin Jr., Klint, Michelle, Louis “Scott” and Jarod Bock, and Kelsey, Angela, and Drew Gerch, and Jonell and Mariah Keleher; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by nine brothers and five sisters.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Klint, Kevin Jr., Louis “Scott”, Michelle and Jarod Bock, and Jonell Keleher.
