HELEN M. BLIEK

Helen M. Bliek, 68, of Sioux City, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Logan Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Kevin M. Richter, of St. Boniface Catholic Church, officiating. There will be no visitation. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bliek was born Sept. 22, 1931, in Akron, Iowa, the daughter of Nick J. and Florence Flaherty. She grew up on the family farm near LeMars, Iowa. She graduated from LeMars High School in 1951. She had been a resident of Sioux City since 1952.

She married Arie Henry Bliek on Dec. 4, 1952, in Dakota City, Neb. He died Sept. 25, 1992, in Sioux City.

She worked at Aalfs Manufacturing for several years.

Survivors include a son and his wife Gary and Angie Bliek of Sioux City; and nieces and nephews, and cousins.
