Marguerite Kersting, 80, longtime Merrill resident, died Thursday (July 20, 1989) at LeMars Floyd Valley Hospital after a long illness.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill, with Pastor David A. Kramer of LeMars officiating. Burial will be in Merrill Hillside Cemetery under direction of the Luedtke-Feuerstein Funeral Home in LeMars.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday with a prayer service at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The former Marguerite Leopold was born Feb. 12, 1909, at Sioux City. She moved to Merrill as a small child where she attended school. She married James Hamilton April 7, 1928. He died Dec. 8, 1981. She married John K. Kersting Dec. 5, 1985, at St. John Church, Merrill. She was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church.
Survivors are her husband, John of Merrill; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (LaVerla) Bliss of Amarillo, Tex.; a stepson, Bill Kersting of Sioux City; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
