AKRON, Iowa – Eleanor C. FitzGerald, 79, of Round Rock, Texas, formerly of Akron, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 1997, at a Round Rock hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Palm Valley Lutheran Church in Round Rock, with the Rev. Elroy Haverlah officiating. Burial will be in Palm Valley Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation, with the family, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Beck Funeral Home of Austin, Texas.
Mrs. FitzGerald was born May 15, 1917, in Akron, the daughter of Blaine L. and Minnie Root. She was a nurse in the U.S. Navy Nurses Corps during World War II.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Michael and Amy of Round Rock and Vincent and Susan of Robstown, Texas; a daughter and her husband. Bonnie and Robert Glenn of Round Rock; six grandchildren; and three sisters, Margaret Crase of Madera, Calif., Virginia Nelson of Pacifica, Calif., and Elaine Phillips of Robert, Calif.
