Mrs. Ed (Maude) Dirks, 69, Akron, died Monday morning (April 30, 1973) at a Sioux City hospital. She had been in ill health, but her death was unexpected.
She was the wife of Ed Dirks, longtime owner of Dirks Motor Co. at Akron.
Maude Richards was born Dec. 20, 1903, in LeMars, the daughter of the late Charles and Dolena Mc Ginnis [McInnis] Richards. She was married May 25, 1922, at Brunsville.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran church, Akron. Rev. David J. Roy will officiate and burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Akron, under direction of the Schroeder funeral home.
Prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Survivors are her husband; a son Richard E. of Akron; a daughter, Mrs. William D. (Betty) De Roos of Omaha; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a sister, Fern Rupp, Sioux City.
