Alan L. Fagan
Alan Leonard Fagan, former Merrill resident for thirty years, died Tuesday, March 17 at Colorado Springs, Colorado following a sudden heart attack. Mr. Fagan had suffered from asthuma for years. He was a retired farmer.
Mr. Fagan was born October 8, 1989 in Jewell County, Kansas and had lived near Merrill for thirty years prior to going to Colorado springs a year ago.
Verna I. Gabel and Alan Fagan were married April 30, 1925 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They were the parents of two daughters and one son.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 21, 1953 at the Plymouth Presbyterian church in Johnson township near Brunsville at 2:30 p.m. Rev. David Streyffeler assisted by Rev. E. M. Miller of Westmar college will officiate at last rites and burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Verna, two daughters, Mrs. Leona Crandall of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Mrs. Lila Pelelo of Merrill; a son, Pvt. Leland V. Fagan of Fort Sill, Oklahoma; his mother, Mrs. J. B. Fagan of Minneapolis, Kansas; four brothers, Harold of Wichita; John of Great Bend; Lester of Colorado springs, and Gilbert of Concordia, Kansas. Four sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Austin of Oklahoma City; Mrs. Eleanor Hauser of Wichita; Mrs. Zelma McCosh of Great Bend, Kansas and Mrs. Doris Smith of Val Paraso, Chile.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
