Lowell R. Taylor, 87, of Akron, died Wednesday (March 5, 1986) at the Akron Nursing Home.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday at Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron. Rev. Neal Rippey of Sioux City officiated. Burial was in Plymouth Presbyterian Cemetery. Visitation began at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Taylor was born March 19, 1898, in Akron. He married Ruth Smith on Feb. 26, 1921, in LeMars. He farmed about 30 years, and in 1947 moved to Sioux City where he was a maintenance engineer. The couple returned to Akron in 1978.
Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Wesley (Peggy) Wilson of Cedar Rapids; one brother, Harvey of Akron; two grandsons, and five great-grandchildren.

Lowell Roscoe Taylor, 87, Akron, died Wednesday, March 5, 1986 in the Akron Nursing Home.
Mr. Taylor was born March 19, 1898 in Akron, Iowa to Llewellyn and Katie McInnis Taylor. He married Ruth Smith February 26, 1921, at Le Mars, Iowa. They farmed for 30 years south of Akron and he moved to Sioux City in 1947 where be worked as a maintenance engineer. They moved back to Akron in 1978.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; a daughter Mrs. Wesley (Peggy) Wilson of Cedar Rapids, Ia.; a brother, Harvey of Akron; two grandsons, four great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Daryl, three sisters, Lillian, Marie and Dorothea, a son Lowell, and an adopted daughter, Patty.
