Donald C. Wilde, 77, of rural LeMars, died Thursday, Aug. 11, 1994, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars.

Mr. Wilde was born March 13, 1917, at his lifelong home near Struble, the son of Carl and Mayme (Dobbert) Wilde. He was a graduate of old Central High School in LeMars. On Dec. 16, 1951, he married Ruth M. Colburn, in LeMars. He did farming and also worked at Windking Manufacturing of Merrill, the Grau Company in LeMars, and the Hinton Farmers Cooperative Elevator in various positions until he retired as the lumberyard manager there in 1982.

Mr. Wilde was a lifelong member of Presbyterian United Church of Christ in LeMars, serving on many church boards and singing in the choir for over 50 years. He was a member of Floyd Valley Chordsmen barbershop quartet called the KLIPPERS. He enjoyed tending the antiques and collectibles exhibit at the Plymouth County Fair, first as superintendent and the last several years as assistant.

Survivors are his wife, Ruth; one daughter, Carla Sue Jenness and her husband, Marlin, of LeMars; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Presbyterian United Church of Christ in LeMars with the Rev. Dave Cave officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, LeMars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Sunday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
