MRS. VAN STEENWYK
DIES UNEXPECTEDLY;
FUNERAL SET MONDAY

Elizabeth (Bessie) Van Steenwyk, 75, 531 Fourth Ave. SE, died unexpectedly at Sacred Heart Hospital Thursday after a short illness.

She was born Aug. 1890, in Holland and came to the United States at the age of three to Rock Valley. In 1939, she came to the LeMars vicinity and has since lived here.

Her marriage to William Arnold Van Steenwyk took place July 19, 1937, in Orange City. She was the former Elizabeth Hyman, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dedrow (Vander Velder) Hyman.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Mauer funeral home, with Rev. Milo Morris officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Survivors are her husband, William of LeMars; a brother, Casey Hyman, Hull; and three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Albertus, Pierre, S.D.; Sonne Hyman, Rock Valley, and Mrs. Nellie Perrion, Hollywood, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
