JOHN VAN VOORST
John Van Voorst, 57, route 4, LeMars, died unexpectedly Friday (Jan. 5, 1979) while being admitted at Floyd Valley Hospital.

He was born May 18, 1921, at Struble to Richard and Ella Boone Van Voorst. He had been a lifelong Plymouth county resident with the exception of 1955 to 1962 at Fairmont, Minn. He was employed the last 12 years at Dubuque Pack.

His marriage to Arlene Morehead took place May 29, 1945, in LeMars.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Luken-Johnson Funeral Home with burial at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Rev. Charles Kaufmann will officiate.

A prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Arlene, LeMars, and four sons, Dale, Ronald and Kenneth, all of LeMars, and Allan (Dick) of Lawton; a daughter, Cheryl Susan of LeMars; three granddaughters, Rebecca, Teresa and Christina, all of LeMars; two brothers, Andrew, LeMars, and Donald of Grand Rapids, Mich., and three sisters, Mrs. Bernie (Minnie) Wallace, of Truth or Consequences, N.M.; Mrs. Roy (Jennie) Dobbert, LeMars, and Mrs. Jake (Henrietta) Van Roekel, Rock Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
