Georgia M. Schnepf
HOPKINS, Minn.--Georgia M. Schnepf, 69, of Hopkins, Minn., died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 1994, at Hopkins.
Georgia M. Schnepf was born Sept. 12, 1925, in LeMars, the daughter of George and Elvira (Alesch) Schnepf. she grew up in the LeMars area and graduated from LeMars Central High School. She attended Westmar College and taught country school in the LeMars area for several years. She also attended the University of Northern Iowa. She was a first grade teacher in St. Louis Park, Minn., for 23 years and had also taught special education. She had been a teacher overseas in the civil service in the Philippines, Japan and Germany. She served as state vice president of the Minnesota Federation of Teachers and had served on several of their state and local committees.
Miss Schnepf was a member of the Church of St. Joseph. She was also active as a Befriender at her church.
Survivors include two brothers, Carl Schnepf and John Schnepf, both of LeMars; two sisters, Paula Uhrig of Knoxville, Tenn., and Margaret Flinn of Batavia, Ill,; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Church of St. Joseph, 1310 Main Street, Hopkins, Minn., with visitation two hours before the service at the church. Burial will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Cemetery in LeMars. Washburn McReavy Strobeck Johnson Chapel in Hopkins is in charge of arrangements.
