HARRY P. UTESCH
Harry P. Utesch, 76, of LeMars, died unexpectedly at his residence on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1992.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Merrill, with Rev. Jack Hebard officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens, LeMars. Friends may visit after 5 p.m. today (Friday) at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
Mr. Utesch was born July 26, 1916, in Washington Township, Plymouth County, to Max and Mathilda (Null) Utesch. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Merrill. He attended public school at Merrill and later the Morningside College Conservatory of Music. He married Lois Eilks Jan. 9, 1946, in Johnson Township, Plymouth County. The couple farmed until 1969.
Mr. Utesch held many offices at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Merrill.
Survivors include a son, Paul Utesch and his wife, Helen, of rural LeMars; three grandchildren, Michelle Kristi, Paul August, and Michael Roy Utesch, all of LeMars; four step-grandchildren, Paul Allen, Dusty James, Jeffrey Adam and Bobby Joe Hassman, all of LeMars; two sisters, Minnie Pendleton and Lillian Taylor of LeMars; a brother, Max Utesch, of Brunsville, and several nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by his parents, a brother August, and three sisters, Hannah Peters, Mathilda Raby, and Viola Utesch.
