Don L. Van Leeuwen, 67, of LeMars, died early Friday, May 7, 1999, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City.

Mr. Van Leeuwen was born March 28, 1932, at Sioux City, the son of Morris and Eva (Van Ort) Van Leeuwen. He attended school in Orange City and attended Westmar College in LeMars. On Aug. 7, 1952, he married Faye Jacobsma at Hospers. They lived in LeMars for many years. He was a sales representative.

He was a member of Calvin Reformed Church in LeMars and had sung in the church quartet.

Survivors include his wife; seven children, Pat and her husband Dick Oelkers of Klamath Falls, Ore., Jim and his wife, Janet Van Leeuwen of LeMars, Bruce and his wife, Theresa Van Leeuwen, of Coos Bay, Ore., Nancy and her husband, David Schofield, of Manson, David and his wife, Mitzi Van Leeuwen, of Chapel Hill, N.C., Sue and her husband, Frank Bucholz, of LeMars and Tim Van Leeuwen of Urbandale; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Calvin Christian Reformed Church in LeMars with the Rev. Wick Hubers officiating. Burial was in Resthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until noon Monday at the church. The Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home of LeMars was in charge of arrangements.
