LOIS J. TRACEY

Lois J. Tracey, 61, of LeMars, died early Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars.

Lois June Ritchie was born June 16, 1936, at Merrill, the daughter of Omer and Lura (Hattan) Ritchie. She moved with her family to Hornick when she was five years old. She graduated from Hornick High School in 1954. On Nov. 7, 1956, she married Dale Tracey in Hornick. The couple lived in LeMars for 41 years.

She had worked for Lovely Drug for several years and later for Floyd Valley Hospital in the dietary department for several years until ill health caused her early retirement in 1984.

She was a member of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ in LeMars.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Roger Tracey of LeMars; a sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Larry Ruchti of LeMars; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Joy and Joyce Ritchie of Cedar Rapids, Darrell and Betty Ritchie of Sioux City, and Paul and Ellen Ritchie of Smithland.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
