THELMA TAYLOR

SIOUX CITY --- Thelma R. Taylor, 79, of Sioux City, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 1994, at her residence after a short illness.

Mrs. Taylor was born Feb. 24, 1915, in the Kingsley area, the daughter of Andrew and Vera (Pierce) Knudsen. She worked at the family farms in the Kingsley, LeMars and Westfield areas. On Dec. 20, 1933, she married George Taylor. He died in April 1962. After his death, she moved to Sioux City and worked for Zenith until retiring in 1975.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sioux City.

Survivors include a son, George and his wife, Virginia of Sioux City; two daughters and their husbands, Donna and Rivola Bennette of Davenport, and Betty and David Lindsey of Springfield, Mo.; four brothers and their wives, Howard and Minnie Knudsen of Merrill, Russell and Lois Knudsen of Ruthven, Vern and Margaret Knudsen of Moville, and Charles and Loran Knudsen of Tacoma, Wash.; two sisters, Ruth Hartman and her husband Leroy, and Vera Thompson, all of Sioux City; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Glenn Knudsen, and a granddaughter, Sara Marie Taylor.

Graveside services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at Resthaven Cemetery in LeMars. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. L. Duane Churchman officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Following visitation, the body will be cremated.
