MRS. ELSIE MARGARET STIEF

Mrs. Elsie Margaret Stief, 69, longtime Plymouth County resident, died Wednesday at Floyd Valley Hospital. She fell Monday at her home at Brentwood and sustained a fractured hip.

Elsie M. Dannenbring was born Dec. 10, 1900, in Sioux County, the daughter of the late August and Dorothea Walters Dannenbring. Her marriage to Harry F. Stief took place Feb. 2, 1920, at Ireton.

She lived in Sioux county, then moved to South Dakota until 1936 when she returned to Sioux county where she and her husband farmed until moving to Plymouth county in 1939. They farmed there until retiring to LeMars in 1954. Her husband died in 1968.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's American Lutheran Church, LeMars. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens under the direction of the Mauer funeral home. Rev. Arnold Imbrock will officiate.

Survivors are a son, Rev. Harry Stief, of Anaheim, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Dean (Dorothy Jean) Dunn, rural Merrill; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Braaks, LeMars and Mrs. Mary Dobbert, Sacramento; a brother, John Dannenbring, of Anaheim.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister and four brothers.

Mrs. Steif was a member of St. John's American Lutheran Church in LeMars.
