WILLIAM P. STABE
LE MARS, Iowa --- William Paul “Bill” Stabe, 61, of LeMars, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at his residence.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars, with the Rev. Larry Fett officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Stabe was born March 30, 1939, in LeMars, the son of Raymond and Evelyn (Kounkel) Stabe. He attended school in LeMars.
He married Patty Durr on June 12, 1960, in LeMars. He was employed in road construction with IBP and as a truck driver. He was self-employed as a carpenter in the LeMars area for many years. He retired in the 1990’s.
He enjoyed fishing and camping.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Debbie Lubben and her special friend, John Lambert and Terri Carter, all of Sioux City and Lynette and her husband, Paul Mayrose, of LeMars; a son Randy, of LeMars; 11 grandchildren; a great grandson; his father of LeMars; a brother and his wife, Gene and Diane of Akron, Iowa; a sister, Janice Stabe of LeMars; mother-in-law, Colleen Durr, of LeMars; three brothers-in-law and their wives, Orville and Charlene Durr Jr., Terry and Mabel Durr, and Rodney and Beth Durr, all of LeMars; and a sister-in-law, Linda Durr, of LeMars.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father-in-law, Orville Durr; and a grandson, Brett Olson.
Pallbearers will be Terry and Tom Durr, Lance Brown, Dennis Rieken, Eugene Stabe and Archie Port.
