Darold E. Sorgdrager, 51, Sioux City, a LeMars native, died Sunday (March 20, 1988) in a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars, with Rev. L. Streyfeller of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens in LeMars. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Monday with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
Mr. Sorgdrager was born Jan. 1, 1937, in LeMars to Kenneth and Margaret Stinton Sorgdrager. He was employed as a machinist and crane operator for 12 years at State Steel Inc. in Sioux City.
Prior to that he lived in LeMars and worked at the Ed Spindler Cement and Well Company.
Survivors are two sons, Darold Jr., of Sioux City and David of Lodi, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Rich (Karla) Seger of Sergeant Bluff; his mother, Margaret Sorgdrager of Sioux City; his twin brother, Jarold, of LeMars; a sister, Carol Means of Sioux City; paternal grandmother, Etta Sorgdrager of LeMars and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Feb. 28, 1988.
