MILDRED L. SINGER

LE MARS, Iowa --- Mildred Leona Singer, 93, of LeMars, died Friday, May 11, 2001, at Chatsworth Convalescent Center in Chatsworth, Calif.

Family graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery, rural LeMars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Thursday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.

Mrs. Singer was born Sept. 11, 1907, in LeMars, the daughter of George and Mary (Roberts) Bauerly. She was raised and educated in the LeMars area.

She married Albert L. Singer on May 1, 1923, in LeMars. The couple made their home in LeMars, where she was employed in ladies clothing shops for many years. Her husband died in 1981. She later moved to California. For the past few years she had been a resident at Chatsworth Convalescent Center.

She enjoyed baking.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Alberta Burkett-Kasten and Paul of Simi Valley, Calif.; a son and his wife, Derreill and Dixie of Olympia, Wash.; 10 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a brother and his wife, Duane and Lavonne Bauerly of Illinois.

She also was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters and a grandson.
