ALBERT SINGER
Albert L. Singer, 79, of LeMars, Remsen native, and lifelong Plymouth county resident, died Friday (Jan. 23, 1981) at St. Joseph hospital in Sioux City after an extended illness. He had been hospitalized for three weeks.
Funeral services were Monday at 2 p.m. at the Luken-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars. Rev. H. H. Schauland officiated and burial was in Resthaven Memory Gardens, LeMars.
Mr. Singer was born Aug. 24, 1901, in Remsen to Leonard and Kathryn Mader Singer. He was retired and had been employed for 30 years with the Plymouth County highway department. He was a member of the fraternal order of Eagles.
His marriage to Mildred L. Bauerly took place May 1, 1934, at Elk Point, S.D.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and sisters and by a grandchild.
Survivors are his wife, Mildred of LeMars; a son Derreill Singer and his wife Dixie of Shelton, Wash.; a daughter, Mrs. Alberta Burkett, Anaheim, Calif.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Clarence Singer of LeMars and two sisters, Mrs. Ben (Amanda) Beyers, Hinton and Amelia Singer, Omaha.
