HARRY SCHROOTEN
Harry Lee Schrooten, 74, lifelong Plymouth country resident and retired grain and livestock farmer, died Tuesday at Floyd Valley Hospital. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance at 1 a.m. He had been ailing for several years.
Mr. Schrooten was born Nov. 15, 1896, in Stanton township where he had still lived.
His marriage to Louise M. Snave took place March 25, 1924, in Sioux City. His parents were Henry and Olive Grimjes Schrooten.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Mauer funeral home with Rev. James D. Ransom officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Survivors are his wife, Louise, rural LeMars; two daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Harriet) Lofshult, Springfield, Mo.; Mrs. Russell (Patricia) Barnes, Chicago; three granddaughters and a grandson; a brother, George Schrooten, rural Hinton; and a sister, Mrs. Charles (Clarabell) Begg, Woodbine.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Henry.
Mr. Schrooten was a member of the Presbyterian church.
