ANNA SCHROEDER

Anna Schroeder, 95, longtime LeMars area resident, died Monday (Sept. 18, 1989) at Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in LeMars after a brief illness.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars. Rev. Larry Fett will officiate and burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday with the family present at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m.

The former Anna Wengler, she was born Feb. 27, 1894, at Aurora, Ill., to John and Mary Wengler. She married Frank Schroeder Sept. 11, 1912, at Remsen.

She lived at Aurora, Remsen and LeMars areas. For a number of years she worked at the Truck Haven Café. Mrs. Schroeder was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the senior citizens.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Dick (Mabel) Friedrichs of Whiting, Mrs. Mary Janes and Mrs. Andrew (Betty Ann) Rolfes of LeMars; and two sons, John W. Schroeder of Sioux City and John J. Schroeder of Stockton, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Kate Lampert of Morris, Minn., Mrs. Elizabeth Bergseth of Big Stone, S.D., and Mrs. Harry (Theresa) Stodman of Paynesville, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1970; three children, Bernice, Harm and Lawrence; two brothers and four sisters.
