VIOLET W. SCHLEEF
Violet W. Schleef, 64, of LeMars, died Wednesday (Oct. 23, 1985) at Marian Health Center, Sioux City, after a brief illness.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First United Methodist Church in LeMars. Rev. Robert Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Friday and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. in the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Schleef, the former Violet W. Walker, was born March 9, 1921, at Sioux City, to Daycleth and Birdie Murnam Walker. She married Lyle Schleef Jan. 17, 1941, at Cherokee. She was a bookkeeper for Lyle’s Tank Wagon Service in LeMars. She moved to LeMars 35 years ago. Mr. Schleef died in 1967. She then was employed at the ASCS Office in LeMars.
Mrs. Schleef was a member of the First United Methodist Church, UMW and Peer Group.
Survivors are a son, Dennis of Younkers, N.Y.; one brother, Maynard, of St. Charles, Mo., and four sisters, Phyllis Mahoney and Grayce Vittitoe, both of Omaha, LaVonne Van Maanen of Mesa, Ariz., and Lillian Schwarz of Moville. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Vern and Edwin Walker.
