EILENE J. SANOW

Eilene Jean Sanow, 68, of Hinton, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 1997, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City.

Eilene Jean Beach was born March 3, 1929, at Elk Point, S.D., the daughter of John and Shara Mae (Davis) Beach. She attended country school near Brunsville. On March 24, 1946, she was united in marriage to Leslie Sanow in LeMars. The couple lived in Plymouth County throughout their married life. Mr. Sannow died Dec. 9, 1990.

Eilene enjoyed horses and attending horse shows and rodeos. She also enjoyed collecting dolls and antiques. She was very involved with her family and enjoyed camping with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include five daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Kenneth Bruscher, of LeMars, Barbara and Keith Nicks of Hinton, Roberta and Dennis Lundquist of Sioux City,Connie and Richard Lalk of LeMars and Tracey and William Lalk of Remsen; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Becky Sanow of Remsen and William “Pete” and Linda Sanow of Struble; two sisters Darlene Van Voorst of LeMars and Dorothy and her husband, Bud Martin, of LeMars; four brothers, John and Betty Beach of LeMars, Gary Beach and Bobby Beach; two sons-in-law, James and his wife, Mary Nicks of Hinton and Mike and his wife, Sally VanderWeide of Spencer; 26 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Suzanne Nicks and Bonnie VanderWeide; and a brother, Delbert Beach.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars with the Rev. Larry Fett officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery, LeMars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today (Tuesday) at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Bruscher, Donald Bruscher, Kevin Bruscher, Mike Becker, Jerry Rock, Gregg Pederson, James Taylor and Clayton Sanow. Honorary pallbearers will be William Lalk, Jason Lalk, Scott Pederson and Jacob Brewer.
