Ann Sasker Rees

Ann Sasker Rees, 67, Luverne, Minn., died Jan. 31, 1982, at Luverne Community Hospital.

Services were held Feb. 3 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist church in Luverne with Rev. Virgil M. Coburn officiating. Burial was in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens at Luverne.

Pallbearers were Donald Oltmans, Harry Engelkes, Fred Oltmans Jr., Walter Oltmans, Lloyd Engelkes and Venon Engelkes.

The former Ann Sasker, she was born June 6, 1914 at rural Rushmore, Minn., to Ben and Henrietta Oltmans Sasker. Her parents were natives of Holland.

She married Melvin Rees March 19, 1942, at Rushmore. They lived at rural LeMars until 1956 when they moved to rural Luverne. She was a cook at a hospital there for 10 years. She was a well known cake cateress at weddings and other events.

Mrs. Rees was a member of the United Methodist church at Luverne and ladies aid.

Survivors are her husband and two daughters, Rita Sterrett and Gloria Lorenzen, both of Luverne; six grandchildren; a brother, Ray Sasker, Luverne, and two sisters, Jen Wiseneke, Lismore, and Viola Larsen, Worthington.
