Dorothy Weidauer, 78, LeMars, died Wednesday, April 20, 1994 at the Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars. Family graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Memorial Cemetery. Memorial services will be 1:30 Monday at the First Methodist Church, LeMars with Rev. Lynn Potter officiating. The Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home is handling arrangements. There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Weidauer was born May 21, 1915 in Le Mars, daughter of Edward J. and Sarah A. Barrett Rees. After high school, she worked as a switchboard operator for Central West Telephone in Le Mars. She married Lloyd Weidauer August 24, 1938, in Sioux City, Iowa. They farmed many years in Washington Township, Plymouth county, Iowa. They retired and then moved to Le Mars.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Wesleyan Guild, Federated Women's Club, The Sweet Adelines Barbershop Group and was an avid quilter and seamstress.

Survivors include her husband; a son and his wife, Tim and Carol Weidauer of LeMars; a daughter, Rebecca Wiersma of Le Mars; four grandchildren, Jeff and Teresa Weidauer of Cookeville, Tenn., Greg Weidauer of Wahpeton, N.D., Nicole Weidauer of Le Mars and Jackie Wiersma of Le Mars, and one great grandchild Samantha Weidauer of Cookeville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, five sisters and three brothers. A memorial has been established in her name with hospice of Le Mars.
