ROBERT H. REICH

Robert H. Reich, 75, of Akron, died Monday, March 17, 1997, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City.

Robert Herbert Reich was born Oct. 15, 1921, in Elgin, Neb., the son of Carl and Hattie (Briese) Reich. In 1930 the family moved to the Sioux City area. Mr. Reich had worked for Pilley’s Creamery during the 1940’s and later worked for the city of LeMars mowing grass.

He was a very friendly and outgoing person who enjoyed visiting with his many friends. He had also enjoyed bowling and playing softball.

Survivors include five brothers, Arthur and his wife, Lucille Reich, of Lakewood, Calif., Roland and his wife, Pauline Reich, of Lincoln, Neb., Larry and his wife, Colleen Reich and Eugene and his wife, Sylvia Reich, all of Sioux City, and Charles Reich of Akron; four sisters, Alice Ege of Sioux City, Helen and her husband, Wayne Kenowith, Dorothy DeYoung, and Shirley and her husband, Chester Mesner, all of LeMars; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Raymond in infancy, Walter and Irwin; and a sister, Elsie in infancy.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church in LeMars with the Rev. Larry Fett officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery at LeMars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.

Pallbearers will be Wendell Jensen, Joe DeYoung, Harold Jelken, Marvin Hitzeman, Paul Johnson, Leonard Koch and Kenneth Hillrichs. Honorary pallbearer will be Arthur Reich.
