BEATRICE G. RAMHORST

Beatrice G. Ramhorst, 76, of Brunsville, died Friday (May 15, 1987) at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John’s Lutheran Church at rural Ireton. Rev. Nathan Brandt officiated. Burial was in Resthaven Memory Gardens at LeMars.

Visitation began at noon Sunday at the Dow Funeral Home at Ireton with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Mrs. Ramhorst, the former Beatrice Mauer, was born April 5, 1911, at Linn Grove. She graduated from Rossie High School and from a cosmetology school at Des Moines.

She operated a beauty shop at Ireton. She married Henry Ramhorst June 27, 1935, at Ireton. The couple farmed in the Ireton area. Mr. Ramhorst died Dec. 12, 1968. She moved to Brunsville in 1969.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and served as a 4-H leader for several years. She was active in the Farm Bureau and the West Sioux School Reorganization Committee. She was an active member of Four Seasons Garden Club, Brunsville Garden Club, and the Sioux City China Painters Club. She was a member of the National Society of Tole and Decorative Painters, Inc. and the Brunsville City Council.

Survivors are a son, Darrel, of Sioux Center; three daughters, Mrs. Keith (Norlene) Morgan of Billings, Mont., Mrs. Ken (Gayle) Harskamp of Ida Grove; and Mrs. Ron (LuEva) Halweg of Mitchell, S.D.; a brother; six sisters, 16 grandchildren and a great grandchild.
