LOUIS PLUEGER

Funeral services for Louis C. Plueger, 79, LeMars, Plymouth county native, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. John's American Lutheran Church, LeMars. Rev. William Striepe will officiate and burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, LeMars, under the direction of the Mauer funeral home.

A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Plueger died Feb. 15, 1981, at St. Joseph’s hospital, Sioux City, after an illness of six weeks.

He was born Sept. 1, 1901, in Grant township, rural LeMars, to William F. C. and Meta Dirks Plueger.

He farmed in the early years and owned and operated the Brunsville Lumber yard. He worked later as a carpenter. He had lived all his life in Plymouth county except from 1949 through 1958 when he lived in California.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and a sister.

His marriage to Emma Berg took place April 5, 1920, in Grant township.

Survivors are his wife, Emma, LeMars; three sons, Donald and Elmer Plueger both of Hemet, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. William (Erlene) McDougall, LeMars; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ted of Julian, Calif., and Fred of Artesia, Calif.; two sisters, Mary Osborne, Pomona, Calif., and Mrs. Jack (Rosalie) Williams of Cave Junction, Ore.

Mr. Plueger was a member of St. John's American church.
