RAY PLUEGER
Ray Plueger, LeMars, 66, Plymouth County native and lifelong resident, died Monday (Jan. 23, 1984) at Marian Health Center, Sioux City, after an extended illness. He was hospitalized Jan. 12.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John's American Lutheran Church in LeMars. Rev. Tom Lee and Rev. William Striepe will officiate and burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, LeMars, under the direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Ray Albert Plueger was born Jan. 8, 1918, in Plymouth County to Albert and Anne Gerdes Plueger. He was a Plymouth County roads employee for 30 years and was bridge crew foreman at the time of his retirement. He was a member of St. John's American Lutheran Church.
His marriage to Mildred Luschen took place March 6, 1940, at Craig.
Survivors are his wife, Mildred, LeMars; two sons, Rodney Plueger, Greensboro, N.C., and Dean Plueger, Vista, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Phyllis) Overman, San Marcos, Calif.; and Mrs. Kevin (Norma) Groetken, Plano, Tex.; eight grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. William (Bernice) Clements, Willits, Calif., and Mrs. Jerry (Ruth) Helderman, Norwalk, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
