JOHN W. PLUEGER

Funeral services for John William Plueger, 85, lifelong Plymouth county and Sioux county resident, were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in LeMars.

Burial was in Resthaven Memory Gardens in LeMars under the direction of the Mauer funeral home. Rev. Michael Klafehen officiated.

Mr. Plueger lived at Floyd Valley apartments and died unexpectedly April 4, 1980, of an apparent heart attack.

He was born Feb. 2, 1895, in Sioux county near Ireton.

He was a retired farmer and road construction worker. He farmed in Sioux and Plymouth county and retired. He lived in Sioux City and worked for Booth and Olson Construction. He came to LeMars in 1975.

He married Clarabel Bonnichsen.

His parents were Louis and Rieka Dirks Plueger.

Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Weymond (Carol) Drake, Spencer; Jacqueline Murray, Gower, Mo.; Armeda Vaughn and Lawanda Hartshorn, both of Gering, Neb.; and Sandy Ellis, Denver; five sons, Donald, Eugene, Kenneth, Robert and Stanley, all of LeMars; 33 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Lyle D. Plueger, three brothers, Fred, Albert and Henry, and two sisters, Mary and Anna.

He was a member of the Lutheran Church.
