HENRY C. PLUEGER
Henry C. Plueger, 90, of LeMars, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999, at The Abbey in LeMars.
Henry Charles Plueger was born Jan. 18, 1908, on the family farm in Grant Township, Plymouth County, the son of Henry and Trinka (Dirks) Plueger. He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church, Grant Township, rural LeMars. Henry married Doretta Pecks in February of 1928 and later married Dorothy Stephenson on Dec. 21, 1952.
He was involved in farming all his life. He had farmed in Plymouth County for a number of years and later worked for Leonard Molzen for several years. For the last three years he made his home at The Abbey in LeMars.
Mr. Plueger was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and enjoyed fishing and playing cards.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Myrna and Bob Wittkop of LeMars and Sharon and Steve Stroh of Sioux City; a son, Terry Plueger of LeMars; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doretta; two sons, Earlin and Art in infancy; four brothers, John, Bill, Fred and Rich Plueger; three sisters, Anna Molzen and Emma Molzen.
Funeral Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church, rural LeMars, with the Rev. Peter Boe officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery, rural LeMars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today (Tuesday), with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
Pallbearers will be Lou Kresl, Mike Flewelling, Larry Niehus, Dean Wittkop, Doug Wittkop and Rod Wittkop.
