HARRY PEDERSEN

HINTON, Iowa --- Harry Pederson, 89, of Hinton died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Hinton with the Rev. David Kottlowski officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery in rural LeMars, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Monday, with the family present 5 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.

Mr. Pederson was born Oct. 31, 1911, in Ottosen, Iowa, the son of Willis and Laura (Larsen) Pederson. He was raised and educated in the Bradgate, Iowa, area. He married Maxine Westfall at Humboldt, Iowa. They made their home on a farm near Bradgate.

He married Lucille (Trafton) Albers on June 29, 1974, in Janesville, Minn. They lived in Hinton. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hinton. He played in horseshoe tournaments throughout the Midwest, enjoyed cribbage, and was an accomplished story teller.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Larry and Roxanne Pederson of Bloomington, Minn.; two daughters, Barbara Wood of San Diego, Calif., and Patti Gobel of Eden Prairie, Minn.; two step-sons, Dale and his wife, Beverly Albers of Hinton, and Jerry and his wife, Darlene Albers of Onawa, Iowa; a step daughter-in-law, JoAnn Albers of Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; 13 step-great grandchildren; a sister, Esther (Christiansen) Hall of Callender, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a stepson, Wayne; two brothers, Andrew and Mike; two sisters, Helen Larsen and “Tully” Andrews; and an infant sibling.
