LE MARS, Iowa --- Edna Mae Pecks, 80, of LeMars, died suddenly Thursday, Aug. 19, 1999, at her residence.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars, with the Rev. Burt Burwell, A.I.M. of St. John's Lutheran Church, ELCA., officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mrs. Pecks was born Sept. 20, 1918, in Portland township, rural Plymouth county, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Emma (Frerichs) Luschen. She attended country school in Grant township.
She married Herman Pecks on Aug. 13, 1940, in LeMars. The couple farmed near Adaville and later in Preston Township. They move to LeMars in 1957, where she was employed as a seamstress with Aalfs Manufacturing in LeMars and cleaned homes. He died Oct. 8, 1996.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting and gardening.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Verjean and Walter Kleinhesselink and Linda and Max Utesch Jr., all of LeMars; five grandchildren, Max IV, Brett and Brook Utesch, Jodi Kleinhesselink and Jill Nall; a great granddaughter, a brother and his wife, Arlen and Mary Luschen of LeMars; and a sister-in-law, Elva Plueger of Brookings, S.D.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Raymond Luschen; and a grandson, Troy Utesch.
Pallbearers will be Max IV, Brett and Brook Utesch, Jodi and Tara Kleinhesselink and Jill Nall.
