HENRY PETERSEN
Henry Petersen, 91, of LeMars, died Monday (Jan. 5, 1981) at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars of brief illness.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Merrill.
Rev. Alfred Walck will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
There will be a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Mauer funeral home at LeMars.
Mr. Petersen was born Sept. 16, 1889, in Hadstedt, Germany, to August and Anna Volguardsen Petersen. He came to the United States and to Plymouth County at age 14.
He married Margaretha Michael April 23, 1923, at LeMars. She died Sept. 24, 1969. He was a retired farmer.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Alburn (Ruth) Woockman of Hartington, Neb., Mrs. Donald (Dora) Singer of LeMars, and Mrs. Leonard (Esther) Pauling of Granville; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
