VERNON R. PENDLETON
Vernon R. Pendleton, 78, LeMars, died Friday (April 11, 1986) at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars after an illness of six months.
Funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars. Rev. Beryl Hicks officiated. Burial was in Resthaven Memory Gardens. Friends called after 2 p.m. Sunday where a prayer service was at 7 p.m.
Mr. Pendleton was born March 31, 1908, in rural Akron to William and Henrietta Jordin Pendleton. He married Minnie Utesch on June 12, 1929, in Sioux City. He farmed in the Akron and LeMars areas until retiring into LeMars in 1972.
He was a lifelong Plymouth County resident. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Akron.
Survivors are his wife, Minnie; two daughters, Mrs. Don (Imogene) Dickman of Merrill and Mrs. Donald (Donna) Cornish of Ireton; one sister, Mrs. Opal Steineke of Eau Claire, Wis.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson.
