LESTER H. OSBORNE
LE MARS, Iowa --- Lester Henry Osborne, 94, of LeMars, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999, at Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in LeMars.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Resthaven Memory Gardens in LeMars, with the Rev. George Jennings officiating. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m., at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
Mr. Osborne was born Aug. 25, 1905, in Dell Rapids, S.D. He moved with his family to Struble, Iowa, as a child. He attended school in Struble. He was employed with Great Northern Railroad. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II 1942 to 1945.
He married Alma Olsen on Nov. 28, 1944, in Omaha. Following his discharge, he was employed with Burlington Northern Railroad doing section maintenance. He retired after 40 years.
He enjoyed bowling, fishing and baseball.
Survivors include his wife and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
